Day 81: March 22, 2023

Blessing from Spiritual Alignment

Key Verse to Read and Treasure

Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. (John 5:19-20, NIV)

For Insight

Proper spiritual alignment is imperative to reap heavenly blessings from the Lord. We are spiritually aligned and in position for blessing when we are willing to submit our free-will, willing to make our home in the Vine where we find strength, direction, wisdom, and fullness of life, instead of branching off on our own to live apart from the Godhead.

In Deuteronomy 28, the first 14 verses outline how we will be blessed when we are in alignment and living the kind of life the children of God are to live. We will not live it perfectly like Jesus, but we can still live in a way that is pleasing to the Father. There is blessing for obedience. We will be the head and not the tail, we will be blessed coming in and going out (Read Deuteronomy 28:1-14). The child of God who is under the will of God leads a blessed life. But verses 15-30 say what the consequences are when we are not willing to live in the Lord’s Vine. We will be cursed instead of blessed. It is our choice (Read Deuteronomy 28:15-30).

God wants to bless and prosper us no matter what color we are, where we are from, what our background or family name is, or where we came from. Whether we have a title to our name, walls around our office or an open cubby to work from God’s blessings are for us when we are for God.

Jesus is God with all power and authority, yet when he put on flesh and came down to earth he willingly submitted to the Father’s will and obeyed him. The Apostle Paul wrote,

“Have this in mind among yourselves, which is your in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross (Php. 2:5-8).

Our Savior did not have a problem with being obedient to the Father and we were blessed through our Savior’s obedience just like we will be blessed when we become obedient to the Father, Son, and Spirit also.

In the Church we will miss our blessing when we resist spiritual alignment and refuse to be under the shepherd the Holy Spirit sends to lead and cover us. In the human family children will not be blessed by God as they should or could when they resist spiritual alignment and authority under godly parents.

The blessings in store for us are greater than we can list or know all at once. God sends and pours them out over our lifetime. We are living under constant showers of blessings. When we know we are not the Vine, but the branch, knowing we are not the Creator, but the created, living in correct alignment as the creation of the Father, we’ll be happy and satisfied, fed through the Vine, finding fullness of life in the Vine where our blessings are flowing uninterrupted and freely.

Precious Lord, we are not resistant to the spiritual alignment where there is blessing upon blessing waiting for us. Amen
