You are Called to Live in Peace

God has called us to live in peace—Colossians 3:15
For Insight
The world is full of messy, fussy, argumentative people. You may know some of them. You might even be living with one or a few of them. Yak, yak, yak! Fuss, fuss, fuss! Day and night until the ears and souls of those they abide with are weary and just want peace and rest. Hopefully, you are not one of them!
People who are fussy and argumentative are, as Solomon so wisely put it just like trying to restrain oil or grasping the wind with our right hand (Prov. 27:16) An impossibility. They have their own way of living and communicating and living with them can be mentally, emotionally, and spiritually exhausting. Tiring to the body and soul, and make you happy when a day has come (finally) to an end.
But you, child of God are not to be like that. You are called to live in peace. Called to possess the peace of Christ and do your part to bring and keep peace in your environment, relationships, circumstances, and your part of the world.
As God’s son or daughter God does not suggest peace as an alternative way of life, but commands his children live in peace. Peace is one of the characteristics that should distinguish us from those who are not filled or led by Christ. When we reject peace as a way of life we reject one of the most beautiful and identifiable traits of our beloved Savior Jesus.
Jesus, I want to be more like you. Search me and see if there is any way in me that is contradictory to the life I am to live before others and you. Amen
