Day 11: January 11, 2023

Prayer Fills us with Strength and Courage

Key Verse to Read and Treasure

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.—I Corinthians 16:13 (NIV)

For Insight

Turning I Corinthians 16:13,to the wisdom of Scriptures and the person of God in prayer are two of the best actions we can take to receive strength and courage in our inner being and for our circumstances.

God is our amazing source of strength, and he is never running low on courage. Strength and courage are part of God’s nature. We cannot be in communion or communication with him not feel or receive this part of him. Prayer is the place we are transformed and our old nature is changed to be more like God’s. Prayer strengthens us in our feeble and weakened places and sows courage in place of timidity.

God wants us to be courageous and of firm footing. He wants us to know him and what we have through our relationship with him. He wants us to reject the spirit of timidity that did not come from him but were inherited from the world and those who are weak and timid and have passed or deflected these characteristics onto us.

The more we pray and read God’s Word, especially those passages and verses that teach us how to be strong and courageous in the Lord, the stronger and more courageous we will become.

Jesus as I come in prayer I will also receive strength and courage. I am strengthened just remembering and knowing this truth. Amen
