For Insight
The little girl sat in the classroom waving her hand frantically. She was taking a test and had a question, but the teacher would not acknowledge her. No matter how long or hard she waved her hand, how much she sighed it seemed as though she was invisible, her indications she needed help went unseen or ignored.
As Moses stood by the burning bush God spoke to him. As he told Moses what he wanted and needed him to do God let Moses know he had seen his people’s suffering and heard their cries for help and had come down to see for himself. Moses didn’t know at the time, but he was God’s deliverance for the Israelites.
Have you ever felt invisible to God during a time of trial or suffering? Have you ever felt like that little girl in the classroom, frantically waving her hand but getting no response? Have you ever felt your sighs, feelings of desperation, prayers for help from God were going unanswered, unseen? That you were invisible to God? God wants to reassure you and all who are going through something in life that they are not invisible. That he is not ignoring their cries or tears of desperation. Their thoughts of desperation and mental exhaustion have reached his ears and eyes and that he has a plan that will not be thwarted.
The Israelites must have felt invisible to God, but God had a surprise in store for them. They would need to trust and walk in faith.
Life Lesson
When life is hard beyond measure, we can be comforted by knowing God is always at work in our situation. He has gone ahead of us and already worked out our deliverance for us. Like the Israelites it’s not a matter of “does God see or hear us?” But God does see and hear us, and already has a plan in place to bring us out. It’s just a matter of our trusting him and waiting on and in him.
Prayer
Father, one of our biggest challenges in suffering is trusting that you do see and hear us, and we are not invisible to you. when we are experiencing trials or troubles help us to take the position of waiting in faith and living with the assurance you will deliver us. Amen
