For Insight
Once again, my husband is training people how to identify their spiritual gifts. Even though I’m aware of my own gifts through the Spirit I always love participating in this study. Each time I learn something more about myself and hear God’s voice a little clearer. I especially love witnessing believers discover what gifts they have from the Spirit and become excited to use them. Serving the Church, others, and helping to advance the kingdom of God on earth. Some find they are better suited for an area they had never thought of, and others become bolder in their service knowing they are right where they should be.
I’ve lost count of how many times my husband has taught on this area of personal development and spiritual growth, but I know the result is always the same. For those who stick with it, do their homework, are willing to dig deep, walk with the Spirit, listen, follow the process of introspection and self-observation. Those willing to go through the study prayerfully and be open and vulnerable, they experience amazing things. Their work and serving ethic changes, their excitement to use their gifts deepen, and their joy in the Lord increases.
For the believer nothing is more satisfying than knowing we are pleasing the Lord and serving the kingdom based upon the gifts the Spirit has given us. God’s design is to match spiritual gifts, natural abilities, heart desires, mental and physical capacities together to accomplish the plans he has set out. All of this results in a beautiful work for us to do. Before God calls us home, he wants to make sure his plans for us—prepared for us in advance are accomplished and fulfilled.

Are you happy and feeling fulfilled in your work or service to the Lord? Are you serving in the place God has called you? Or are you miserable at work and in the Lord’s service? If so, maybe something is missing. You can always go back to the drawing board and write God in, not in pencil, but in the blood of Jesus.
Praying Ecclesiastes 2:24,26
Lord, there is nothing that pleases us more than being happy at work, happy in our service. Being miserable in both areas is counterproductive and undermines the joy you have for us through those activities. Help us to know where we should work and serve then humble us to make a change if we see change is necessary. Amen
