God Will Answer You

Key Verse to Read and Treasure

Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion, and to you shall vows be performed. O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come…By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness, O God of our salvation (Psalm 65:1-2, 5, ESV)

For Insight

As we have stated previously, not every problem or trouble we face in life has its roots in something spiritual, nor can we blame the devil for every trouble, trial, sickness, loss, or pain. Some things happen or arise simply because we live in a fallen world that disregards God and where many things are natural and part of the human experience and some things are contrived even by our own weaknesses and giving in to our flesh and heart attachments. However, for every problem, trouble or troubling situation we encounter God has an answer or solution.

David often found himself in troubling situations. Whether it was facing off with some enemy, struggling it his own inner weaknesses, fears, or afflictions. Whether he was experiencing family problems or just the things that came with ruling a country he knew where to turn for answers. He was always confident God would not let him down or leave him without the answers needed. Even today God wants us to have that same kind of confidence. He does not want us searching through the world’s garbage heaps, turning to counsel based on worldly advice and philosophies, using self-help strategies that are not reliable and baseless, but he wants us to turn to him. He will not disappoint us.

We might especially appreciate how David declared “by awesome deeds you answer us (ESV). From the beginning of creation (Genesis 1:1-2)God showed himself to be a creative force and to this day he uses creative ways to answer our questions and supply our needs. We might be praying to God, looking to him for answers to our troubling situations, needing his direction how to overcome or experience victory and peace in our problems or pain, whatever the reason God will hear our prayers; even sense our questions and answer us from heaven in whatever creative way he desires to use.

Praying Psalm 65:1-2, 5

Like David, we praise you O God. You hear our prayers—we can be confident of this fact! And by awesome deeds you answer us with your righteousness. We are blessed, helped, and strengthened by your answers no matter how they come to us. Amen
