Regarding Having the Mind of Christ…

But we have the mind of Christ. (I Corinthians 2:16, ESV)

Having the mind of Christ is more than having a healthy mind or mental state, it means we understand and agree with Christ’s outlook and share his heart on matters of heaven and earth. We share in his plans for bringing salvation to all people and how everything done needs to bring glory on earth to the Father in heaven.

When you have the mind of Christ you are in complete agreement with his thought process, you share his attitude, his position of humility, his heart of compassion seen in Matthew 9 (vs36) and his plan of salvation exampled in Matthew 28-16-20.

The “mind” of Christ includes spiritual discernment, clarity, (because there is no doublemindedness in Christ and knowing that God is not a God of confusion nor fogginess. Christ’s mind was one of obedience: whatever the Father wanted and asked of him his mindset was one of submission and yielding to the Father and Spirit as Paul writes in Ephesians 4:30.

Since we have been reminded we have the mind of Christ when we find ourselves in opposition to or resisting his ways, attitude, thinking, and approach that’s our que to stop and pray for transformation so we are no longer conformed to the way this world thinks.

The mind of Christ is beautiful, so our mind is to be beautiful; it is pure, so our mind is to be pure; it is loving toward neighbor and self, able to see the good that needs to be accomplished through all things, so our mind needs to be the same. Christ’s mind is full of light and absent of darkness and ill intent, that’s the mind we are to have also.

When we sort it all out, we can understand more clearly the kind of mind we are to have and the mind we share with our Lord and Savior. The mind of Christ matches and works in concert with the heart of God and ours will too when we share his mind. Let’s Pray

Christ, I receive this reminder that I have your mind, including how you think, and what you believe, in this way I reflect your light and the Father’s heart in a darkened and confused world. Amen
