What the Lord Says Regarding: Worthiness
But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are the work of your hand. (Isaiah 64:8, ESV)Isaiah 64:8,Insecurity,Truth,light,Devil,
Here is a great truth God wants you to know and hold onto: You have worth, and value as a person, and a created being, and as God’s beloved son and daughter, made worthy through the blood of Jesus Christ. When we think about it, the Bible reminds us of this truth from beginning to end.
When we know we are valued and have worth we are confident and undefeatable. That is why the devil spends so much time and expends so much energy trying to dismantle, knock down and tear apart the truth God has spoken to us through his word. The devil enters in to tell us differently, to make us think otherwise, to convince us—through the world’s insecurity—that we have no value or worth apart from our financial status, our relationships, our material possessions, our education, or our physical looks and abilities.
God told the people through the prophet Isaiah that they were the work of God’s hand, God’s own special creation. He was the master potter, and they were the beautiful vessels he created. From the start God called them and us worthy and reaffirmed our worth when he sent Jesus to die on the cross for us, so that we might be redeemed. Even as flawed, sinful, messed up and confused as we are, God saw as worthy; he values us above all else.
If you struggle with feelings of unworthiness let God’s Word, promises, and the voices of those who affirm and believe what God has recorded be your source of truth and light and be careful not to take the devil’s lies and darkened view mislead, confuse or color your beliefs. Let’s Pray
Lord, so many struggle with feelings of unworthiness. May they, this very hour experience the truth of what you have already spoken and continue to speak; that they are worthy, if for no other reason than you have made them. Amen
