A Prayer Regarding God’s Protection from Bullies

Though I walk I the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against my enemies, and you right hand delivers me (Psalm 138:7, ESV)

Jesus, some people are nothing but bullies. Pushy and overbearing, ruled by a domineering spirit and nature, wanting to control, rule over and bully others. They thrive on the weakness of others and love knowing people are threatened by them, afraid of them, and to confront them in their tactics. Just like the spirit and character of the devil, they are always on the prowl for those they can devour and destroy, those that appear weak to them and seem to be easy prey.

I pray, put your fence of protection around me, around my family, loved ones, friends, little children, the weak, the elderly, and the unsuspecting. Protect us from those who are nothing but agents of Satan doing his bidding to kill, steal and destroy people’s lives.

Because you have commanded us to be gentle in nature, we are not released to do as they do. In fact, we can trust you to fight our battles, defending us against  the dark and bullying spirit. No matter how powerful or overbearing they are, how little or helpless we may feel against bullies, help us to remember you have not given us a spirit of timidity or fear, but one of strength and self-control. We are not only made righteous by the blood of Jesus, but we are also powerful, and have strength and authority to stand against the bully spirit and presence.

Deliver us, O Lord, execute justice and fight with and for us so bullies will know they have no real power and whatever they are able to accomplish will be short-lived. They do not have the victory they think they have. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Prayerful Activity: Never stop praying for those who feel the need to bully others just as you pray for those who are bullied
