More than Wonderful

This also comes from the LORD of hosts; he is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom. (Isaiah 28:29, ESV)

This brings to mind a song Larnelle Harris and Sandi Patti sang so many years ago, “More than Wonderful.” A powerful and beautiful song describing Jesus, our glorious Savior and Lord. The testimony Isaiah wrote about Christ came from the Father’s own lips. He knew the breadth of the One he was sending to us, sending  into this troubled, confused, and lost world.   

As the year 2022 is still quite new and fresh are you already discovering how you need to lean on Jesus even at this early stage? Do you need him as a Counselor, a Guide, a Refuge from storm, a Healer from sickness or disease, a Deliverer from pain and oppressive situations, a Strong Tower you can run to, a Prince of Peace who holds you in his mysterious peace, a Divine, Supernatural presence in your circumstances and situation, a Bridge over some troubled waters, a Rock in a wearying situation? Whatever you need Jesus is that and so much more.

In Psalm 63: 1, David wrote, “early will I seek You, Lord.” Early does not have to be only about the time of day or morning, but early in our trouble and in this case early in our new year. Before the year gets too old and while your troubles are still new don’t forget Jesus is excellent in wisdom. He’s wonderful in counsel but he’s also more than wonderful in every other way and he wants to share your journey with you. Let’s Pray,   

Jesus, thank you for being wonderful in more ways than one. I’ll learn to do just as David wrote when he said, “early will I seek you, Lord.” Amen
