A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition. (Mark 5:24-29)

Do you have something you suffer with? Some physical, mental, emotional, spiritual condition you have not been able to have relief? Have you also sought help from many doctors who only made you suffer more? Have you spent untold dollars trying to get help for something that is still with you and not only that, is now even worse? Sometimes we might get used to suffering with something and eventually lose hope we will ever get better. Giving up on getting better or experiencing healing is a great temptation, especially when we have spent years and lots of money doing so, but we can take heart, just like this woman knew, there is always someone out there who can help us on our pursuit of wellness. Someone who knows exactly what to do, someone who has the skill and training and knowhow, who knows exactly what is needed to restore our health and wellbeing.

When we have grown weary of seeking help and becoming worn out, tempted to give up, God has a word for us,” keep pressing, keep seeking, do not give up on hope, stay encouraged and seeking the Lord’s healing for us. Just like this woman found healing in Christ, there is someone out there who can help us experience a greater degree of health and wellbeing. Let’s Pray,

Jesus, sometimes we want to give up, sometimes we grow weary in our pursuit of healing. When we have invested time and money and are just about depleted, lead us to the right place at just the right time. Amen
