A Prayer to Know God Made and Purposed You for This Time and Age

And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this? (Esther 4:14, ESV)

God you put Esther into this world at the time You purposed and knew it was the right time for her and that she would be the one to save her people from annihilation. How awesome that we also are living at just the right time to make a difference in someone’s or a lot of lives. How awesome that each one of us, in our little corner of this great big world, have been created for and born into the exact era, place, and age You planned far in advance so we could bring something unique and special, something to the lives of others that is meant for us for to accomplish.

I believe the moment You knit me together in my mother’s womb You had a specific plan for my life: something You ordained for me alone to accomplish. Because I live here and now this world is to be a better place for others, someone is meant to be saved and come to know Your Son Jesus through me, someone is meant to be encouraged and uplifted through me. Every day You put breath in my body You have a purpose for me for that day. Not just to have a good day or make sure the things that are important to me are accomplished, but an even bigger picture and purpose than that.

I pray, grant me eyes to see, ears to hear, and a deepening sense of how you want to use me on any given day. Enlarge my heart with willingness and grant me wisdom. I know that even small, lighthearted conversations can be important connections and lifelines for someone, that something as small as crossing paths with someone may be part of a larger plan You have for them and me. In the kingdom of heaven there is no such thing as happenstance or coincidence. May I get in the habit of viewing activities as divine appointments and stopping each day to ask about the plans you have for me for that day.

Lord, I am your servant. Use me as you desire. May I fulfill the plans and purposes you have for my life. Amen
