Well Done Good and Faithful Servant!

His master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:21, NLT)

Childhood memories include those of many family members who served in the armed forces. Surprise visits from uncles and cousins who were home on leave, showing up at our door in their uniform and the joy we had in seeing them in person. We would thank them for their service and pray for their safety wherever they were stationed. Their service and dedication inspired me to join the ROTC when I was in high school, being promoted to the ranks of colonel and becoming part of the drill squad and rifle team.

We are all God’s faithful servants on earth serving others and the purposes he has ordained on his behalf. Serving with loving hearts and willing hands. Going where he sends us and representing him, bringing light to darkness. One day, at the Lord’s appointed time we will all hear those treasured words, “Well done good and faithful servant.” In fact, they will be the words he speaks to us just before he ushers us into his heavenly kingdom. No matter how we have served our Lord while on earth, whatever gifts, or talents we have used to help advance the kingdom of God on earth. He will thank us personally for our service and faithfulness and then usher us into the heavenly kingdom. This will be the ultimate reward for service well-rendered. Lets Pray,

Christ, we answer your call to serve and are your servants on earth till death. We look forward to hearing those words spoken to us at the end of our earthly life. Amen
