A Prayer for the Anxious Mind

These all look to you, to give them their food in due season. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are filled with good things. (Psalm 104:27,28, ESV)

Make us increasingly aware Father; that you are with us in this life: that you feed us from your hand. You are never late, but always on time. You are perfectly aware of our needs, our pain, our struggles. You are never removed from our lives but always close, always rejoicing with us in victory and triumphs, always sorrowing with us over sin, and brokenness. You send your Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth and set us on the right path when we are confused or misdirected and come, faithfully to touch us and heal our wounds, whatever they may be. You faithfully help us with the things that could so easily overwhelm us and never tire of fixing, mending, and renewing us. Your love is with us no matter how good or bad we are. And just as you have promised you never disown us—not even if we disown you for a time! May we continue to grow closer to you and fonder of you.

O Lord, there is no need for us to become anxious because when you open your hand to us we are taken care of and fed abundantly; lacking nothing and supplied with all things needful: we are filled with good things. Because you help us, we can carry our crosses of life gracefully and see even our burdens as a blessing. In the morning, afternoon, evening, and night you cause your face to shine upon us and bless our ears with your song of mercy.

Lord, you are our constant Friend, Provider, Protector, Redeemer, Strength, and Comfort and may we be satisfied in you alone and trust in you above all else. In Jesus’ name. Amen

A Prayerful Activity:

Consider the ways God has “opened” his hand to you and filled your life with good things.
