Making Plans

We can make our plans but the LORD determines our steps. (Proverbs 16:9, NLT)

Some of our children have had the experience of building their home. Awesome experience and outcome! Even after they located the land, they wanted to build on they could not just start the process of building their dream home. There was a lot of work to be done prior. There were architects to consult, builders to select, designers to meet with, permits to obtain, timetables to work out, and of course financial matters to settle and agree upon. All of this before breaking ground. The end result were awesome but it took patience and due diligence to bring it all together.

We have a life to life. A life that is a gift from God. and before we were even I the womb God made plans for out life. However, when we were born we were also given free-will so we can live our life any way we choose. We do not have to consult with God or follow his plans for out life. We can decide to go our own way and forge our own path. All of this is permissible under our free will but God loves it when we consult with him, ask for his direction, spend time finding out what his thoughts and plans for our life have been from the beginning. If we want the success God has planned out for us in advance then we should not only include him in our planning but consult with him before we begin to make our plans. Let’s Pray,

Creator God, you are Designer, Originator, Architect, and Builder of human lives. May we remember to include you and consult with you before we begin making plans and determining our next movements. Amen
