God is Certainly for You!

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? (Romans 8:31, NLT)  

Have you ever noticed how the Bible never tries to tell us or define “what” God is? Other than saying God is Spirit who can answer that question emphatically? But the Bible does make it clear that God is “for us.” He is for you and me and proves it over and over—throughout the ages and for all eternity. And from the moment Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden until this very day that we live God is creatively and actively showing that he is “for us.”

God is ready to hear our prayers, ready to answer our prayers, ready to hear our cries, ready to rescue us—even from self-made troubles and hell, ready to heal, love, forgive, deliver, be merciful, redeem and protect us. God is “for us” in every way. There is not a better friend, more loving, steadfast, and faithful Savior than he. He will come to us in our bouts of self-pity and agony of the soul to remind us we are not alone, nor do we have to bear this life alone. Even when we do not feel as though we have anyone else in our corner or on our side, walking with us through our trials and sufferings, God assures us, he is not only with us, but remains unswervingly “for us” throughout our life and beyond that. Let’s Pray,

Lord, because you are for us, we never have to ponder the question of who is against us. Because you are for us, we have all we need. Amen
