God Will open Heaven’s Storehouse for You

The LORD will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand. (Deuteronomy 28:12, NIV)

I’m learning how beneficial it is to research a plant and study what it needs in order to thrive before bringing it into our home environment. Just because it’s pretty or smells good, or I think it may look great in a certain area of the room, is not enough. I need to know if we have the right environment for it, if the lighting in that room or area is sufficient, what kind of vitamins or nutrients will it need to receive in order to help it be healthy and grow strong. Because I’m learning to investigate first, I don’t lose as many plants as I once did. Each plant is different and requires specific kind of care to thrive.  

God has and uniquely and wondrously created us. He put a lot of thought into us before he ever put flesh on us, began the process of forming and placing us in the womb. God gave thought to our life, the activity of this world we would be born into, the people he would bring us through, what our challenges will be and so much more, long before he sends us here. But then he does not stop with creating us, he makes a storehouse in heaven with our name on it that holds everything we will need so we can thrive in our life. When we call to him, he opens our storehouse to us to provide “rain” to our life situation. The storehouse God has for us is packed full of peace, comfort, strength, wisdom, courage, healings, encouragement; everything we need to not only get by but thrive in our life. Just as he told young Jeremiah, “before I formed you in the womb I knew you…I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you” (Jer. 1:4, 29:11) he says to us to this day.

When our lives or circumstances or situations are perplexing, difficult, less than ideal and even trying and challenging, we can trust God who formed us and gave thought to our lives, to make sure we have all we need to thrive just as he has planned from the beginning we can ask him to open heaven’s storehouse and let his provision rain down into our lives. Let’s Pray

Father thank you for the promise of not only provision but our heavenly storehouse which you will open up for us when we have any need. Amen
