When We Uncover our Sin, God Covers It!

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven. Whose sin is covered…I acknowledged my sin to you and my iniquity I have not hidden. (Psalm 32:1, 5, NKJV)

An amazing, miraculous event happens when we confess our sin to God. He forgives us. He covers our sin with his grace and mercy. We are protected supernaturally and eternally. It is hidden behind his unconditional, inexhaustible love. On the flip side when we work hard to cover up our sin, to hide it from God—and others—God will expose our sin. Our hard work and attempt at secrecy goes for naught.

We can work overtime trying to hide our sin from God, but we will never succeed in keeping it from him. We’re so much better off confessing our sin to him and submitting to his fatherly care. The time we spend agonizing can easily be avoided by just going to him and when we finally do, we can be amazed and surprised at the burden lifted, surprised at the joy God has held in store for us. being forgiven is a weight off our heart, mind, and soul. And God will always forgive us—whatever our sin—when we come humbly before him. Always love us unconditionally, and he will always restore us. This is a promise he has never broken. Let’s Pray

So much time spent, Lord, agonizing and trying to keep our sin covered when all we need do is confess it to you because there is great joy and peace in store for us. may we not take so long to come. Amen

Reflections for Soul-Tending:

Have you experienced personally what David wrote in Psalm 32?

Is there any matter you have been reluctant to confess to God? Can you do so with greater confidence, now?

How will you integrate today’s message into your plan of soul-care?
