Perfect Fit!

He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. (Ephesians 4:16, NLT)

My husband and I make a great team. We each have special abilities and unique qualities that contribute to both family life and ministry. At times I have been blessed to present on something or a particular area concerning spiritual life to a group and some in attendance will lovingly kid and rib him at the end of my presentation. Commenting that he “better watch out!” But neither he nor I are  offended or concerned. We have known from the very beginning we are not in competition but instead complement one another. Even when our children were growing each one also had their own special talents and abilities that helped us in family life and ministry to fit together perfectly so that whatever we did was life-giving and full of love.

Whether its family life, ministry or even business, we don’t have to feel threatened by the presence, gifts, or abilities of others. Instead, we can celebrate, be glad and even give thanks to God for the ways he provides in us individually which adds to the richness of us collectively. Let’s Pray,

Dear God, your plan is awesome! Whether it is building the Christian Church or the family by the power and design of your Holy Spirit you knit unique gifts and talents into the fiber of our being so we don’t need to compete but can complement one another, this enables us to serve with joy and without feeling threatened or jealous. Amen
