Together

Simply join your life with mine. (Matthew 11:29, TPT)

At first my husband asked me to marry him and we began to make plans for our life together. But then we had an actual ceremony and took our vows, pledged our lives and hearts to one another. That is when we were officially joined together and from that point on everything shifted from me and mine to us and ours. No matter what has happened in the years and decades since one factor has been first and foremost: we are in this journey together; truly for better or worse.

Jesus said “simply join your life with mine.” What a powerful invitation. When we join our life with his—which just means accepting his ways as our own, letting his character and attitude become ours also—then we have a life we cannot even imagine. Yes there is beautiful companionship but there is also much more. When we join our life with Christ’s there is power, there is peace that is indescribable, there is healing on every level, there is protection, there is an awesome transformation of the mind and thinking but also of our outlook on earthly life and heavenly life: a new perspective. There is provision and protection. There are things that we cannot even imagine or put words to when we join our life to Christ’s just like I could not imagine totally the many joys and benefits that would come out of joining my life with my husband. Let’s Pray,

Dear God, thank you for sending your Son, Jesus. He put on flesh and walked the same walk we must walk. Now he is victorious in life and death and invites us to join our life with his. Because of this we are no longer weak or alone but strong and in partnership with Jesus. Amen
